![]() PRESS RELEASE: Positive Grid (announces BIAS Desktop, a groundbreaking guitar-amp designer and modeler plug-in for both Mac OS X and Windows. ![]() Full details below, and here’s a video of the amp matching process. ![]() They’re planning a Q3 release date, and meanwhile you can sign up as a beta tester – HERE. To make this feature even more usable, they are linking Bias directly to their “Tone Cloud”, where you can swap amp models with other users. This allows you to feed Bias a recording of a guitar tone recorded on a real amp, and it will then attempt to accurately model that tone. Even cooler is the new amp matching feature. Basically it takes a modular approach to amp modeling, letting you mix and match different elements of the amp, like preamps, tone stacks, power amps in what looks like a very intuitive manner. Not to mention, having a big clumsy guitar cable attached to my iPhone seemed like a recipe for disaster.īut now, Positive Grid is releasing Bias for the desktop. Despite giving their earlier mobile amp sim app, “Jamup” a positive review, I really don’t have much need to record music on my phone. I have to admit, I didn’t pay to much attention to Positive Grid’s Bias when it was released for iPad and iPhone. ![]()
